How Long Should Jewelry Repairs Take?

How long does it take to get a ring sized? Some jewelry companies send off all of their jewelry repairs to a bench jeweler who is not directly employed by their company. This could mean you have to go without your sacred engagement ring for days on end…possibly even weeks!

There is no need for you to have to use a store like this when there are so many stores in your area that can perform the proper jewelry repairs right before your eyes. As long as the company has a bench jeweler on staff, it should only take a few minutes (twenty at the max) for your ring to be changed to the size perfect for your finger.

Other jewelry repairs may take a little longer depending in the severity of the repairs. If you need an entire prong replaced or even a new setting entirely, you can expect to wait a little while before getting your jewelry back. However, the same rule applies: If the jewelry store directly employs a bench jeweler, you will have your item back in half the time as someone who has to ship it off to be fixed. Knowledge is power!
